| Ellie trying to make his stay a little bit better |
Braxton has been such a trooper this week. Sunday he started to complain that his tummy was hurting and felt sick. Not long after that he became sick to his stomach and it continued all Monday. Anything that went in his mouth came right back up. He was so sad cause he couldn't even keep his Popsicle down. He said, "mom i love my pops icicles so much but even they wont stay down." Late Monday we finally got him to adventure outside for a bit to try and enjoy some fresh air not long after he was begging to back in side. Tuesday morning he was cheering as he walked out of his room that he felt better and it was but a few minutes later he was hunched over on the couch crying in pain. The Dr. had us come in as soon as possible and they started an IV in office cause he was so dehydrated. I really thought he would freak out do to his fear of Dr.s but he layed completely still and did not make a peep. It broke my heart cause it confirmed how sick he really was. After we left the office he was a new little boy who was asking for pizza. We went and had some soup for lunch and headed home. When I got him into the house he started crying again of the pain and around 5 I called the Dr. again and he had us come right back in. By the time we got into town he was so so sick. We had blood work and x-rays taken and than he was admitted. My heart just broke for him cause he was in so much pain and had to go through the whole IV again. The Dr. said he had colon-itis and had a blockage inside which was causing him to fill up with air. We ended up staying two long nights which we contemplated staying another cause he still wouldn't eat or drink and was still pretty week. Once Ellie showed up from school and the nurse took his IV out he was a whole new boy. I am pretty sure Braxton thinks that the nurse who took his IV is a QUEEN cause he hated and complained the whole time of how uncomfortable it was. We still can't get him to eat or drink much but we are gradually making progress. BIG THANKS to the Dr. and all the GREAT nurses that took care of us while we were in.
